Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 15, 2025
Who we are. Trelys (“Trelys,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides real-estate research tools and member services. Our website address is: https://trelys.io.

We respect your privacy. This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account & Membership Data. Name, email, password, membership level, and preferences when you register or update your profile.

  • Billing & Orders (via Paid Memberships Pro). We process membership fees using third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe or PayPal). Trelys does not store full credit-card numbers. PMPro and/or your selected processor may store tokens, the last 4 digits, and expiration month/year to manage recurring billing.

  • Favorites & Saved Analyses. When you favorite properties or save investment-calculator inputs, we store those selections with your account. For users not signed in, we generate a pseudonymous device ID in your browser storage (e.g., localStorage) so you can retrieve saved inputs later.

  • Communications. Messages you send us, support requests, and your marketing preferences.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage & Device Info. IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, referring/exit pages, and timestamps (used for security, performance, and analytics).

  • Cookies & Similar Technologies. See “Cookies & tracking” below.

  • Comments & Media (if enabled). If you leave comments, we collect the data shown in the form plus IP and user-agent for spam detection. If you upload images, avoid embedded location (EXIF) data—visitors can download and extract that data.

Information from third parties

  • Property & Market Data. We retrieve property information from data providers such as ATTOM Data Solutions. We send them property identifiers (e.g., APN/FIPS or ATTOM ID) but we do not send your personal data with those queries.

  • Service Providers. We may receive limited information from vendors (e.g., payment success/failure, fraud indicators, or deliverability stats from email providers).

How we use your information

We use information to:

  • Provide and improve the Service. Create and manage accounts, deliver property data, show favorites, save investment analyses, and personalize features.

  • Membership & Billing. Verify eligibility, process payments, provide free trials where available, manage renewals/cancellations, and send transactional notices.

  • Communications. Send service messages (e.g., receipts, changes to terms), and—if you opt in—product updates or third-party solutions that may be relevant to investors.

  • Security & Compliance. Detect/prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our Terms.

  • Analytics. Understand aggregate usage to improve performance and features.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with service providers under contract to operate our services (see below). Content and datasets you access through Trelys are licensed for your personal or internal business use only and may not be resold, redistributed, or republished without written permission and the original data provider’s consent.

Legal bases (EEA/UK only)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract necessity (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), consent (for optional marketing cookies/emails), and legal obligation.

Sharing your information

We share information only as needed to operate Trelys:

  • Infrastructure & Database: Supabase (application database, APIs).

  • Membership & Billing: Paid Memberships Pro (WordPress membership plugin) and your selected payment processor (e.g., Stripe/PayPal).

  • Property Data: ATTOM Data Solutions (property and sales history lookups using property identifiers, not your personal data).

  • Email/Notifications: Email and messaging providers to send transactional and (if opted-in) marketing emails.

  • Security/Anti-Spam: Tools that help detect abuse (e.g., comment spam filters).

  • Professional Advisors & Legal Compliance: If required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transaction (e.g., merger).

We require service providers to safeguard personal data and use it only to perform services for us.

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in and remember preferences.

  • Support membership checkout and recurring billing.

  • Save table filters and UI choices.

  • Improve site performance (including server-side caching of property data).

  • (If enabled) measure usage with analytics.

WordPress cookies.

  • Login cookies (2 days; “Remember Me” up to 2 weeks) and screen-options cookies (1 year).

  • Editor cookies when creating/editing posts (1 day).

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt to save your details in cookies for up to 1 year.

Browser storage for saved analyses. We may store a pseudonymous device ID and calculator inputs in your browser’s local storage so you can retrieve them later.

You can control cookies via your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.

Data retention

  • Account & Membership: While your account is active and as needed for our legitimate business needs and legal obligations (e.g., tax and accounting, typically up to 7 years).

  • Favorites & Saved Analyses: Until you remove them or delete your account; device-based data persists until you clear browser storage.

  • Comments: Indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-ups automatically.

  • Server Caching: Property/API responses may be cached (typically 24 hours to 30 days) to improve performance and reduce third-party API costs. We avoid caching personal data beyond what’s necessary for site operation.

Your rights & choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal data.

  • Portability of certain data.

  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time (unsubscribe link).

  • California (CCPA/CPRA). We do not “sell” or “share” (for cross-context behavioral advertising) personal information as defined by California law. You may request access/deletion and limit use of sensitive data where applicable.

To exercise rights, contact us at [EMAIL]. We may request verification. Some data must be kept as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, accounting).

Children’s privacy

Trelys is not directed to children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

International data transfers

We operate in the United States and may transfer data to service providers in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs).

Embedded content and links

Pages may include embedded content (e.g., videos, maps) from other websites. These third parties may collect data about you, use cookies, or track your interactions per their own policies.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect personal data (e.g., HTTPS, access controls). No method is 100% secure; please use strong, unique passwords and keep them confidential.

Your responsibilities regarding datasets

Property and market data accessible via Trelys is provided under license (e.g., from ATTOM). You may not resell, redistribute, or share such data or derived reports externally without written permission from Trelys and the originating data provider. You are responsible for complying with any applicable data-use restrictions.

Communications & marketing

By creating an account, you agree to receive transactional emails (e.g., receipts, membership notices, policy updates). You can opt in or out of marketing emails at any time. We will not sell your contact details. We may share your email with our email service provider solely to deliver those messages.

Membership trials and auto-renewals

If your membership includes a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your membership will automatically convert to the selected paid plan and renew at the stated interval until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account or by contacting support. See our Terms for full billing details.
